It is Friday already and tomorrow I am off to the Vintage Bazaar in Frome!....

Aah  Summer! - That long anticipated stretch of lazy lingering days, free of responsibility and rife with possibility.  It's a time to hunt for insects, master handstands, practise swimming strokes, conquer trees, explore nooks and crannies and make new friends.

The weather seems to make me feel like this quote above, I love all seasons and my favourite is actually Autumn believe it or not but Summer and sitting and stitching in the garden and watching the birds and bees going about their business.  Watching all the flowers pop up and my tomatoes coming along .... Oh yes I enjoy my English summers.

I have had such a wonderful few weeks what with going to London to Liberty's and to the Sarah Moore fair and now off to the Vintage Bazaar tomorrow It feels like I have been on a holiday!  Although all of the above is partly work for me, I have to say I enjoy it all thoroughly.
Us vintage lot are very sociable people and not only are we buying and selling fabrics and other vintage loveliness but we also chat about our projects and share our love of what we do.... It is only another person like myself who will understand the joy of going through your button, fabric and embroidery thread stash or the starting or finishing of a project.

Today I am going to settle down and finish a couple of projects that I am working on and then I am going to cut out some of this fabric for a new one that I am starting.
I found this fabric at the Sarah Moore fair and I bought it from the Washerwoman stand, the lovely Liz had some beautiful fabrics there but this one is the one that I will use.  So I am going give it a little press where it has been folded and then draw my pattern and then pin and cut....   I have just the right button for the project and I am really excited about starting it.

Later I will be sorting out my bits and pieces to take to the Vintage Bazaar tomorrow, diary, PURSE, shopping bag that I bought from Little Wren Vintage ( the lovely Emma) ... I showed you a photo of it a while back when I went to the vintage fair in Bradford On Avon..... It is a huge tote bag with a pocket for your phone and I can put everything in there safely and have hands free to take photos for you all to see on Mondays blog.....

If I have time over the weekend I am going to have a little experiment with the cigarette cards and seed papers I bought and see if I can photo copy them on to some paper that I can iron the images onto French linen....
. If I get round to it this week end I will show you all how I got on.  It will be exciting to see if this can work.  If the colours come out well and I am able to iron it on, then these will be washable!

If that works then there will be a whole new design from me based around these lovelies ......

Well enough of writing about it all, I must actually get on as I have a very busy day ahead of me that will merge into this weekend as well.....

Have a great weekend and do not forget it is the stitch of the week tomorrow brought to you by the lovely Mary Corbet and it is a beauty!

Also on Monday all the fun of the vintage bazaar will be posted.  I believe it is a vintage weekend thing so there will be lots more going on as well and I will bring you everything I can about this great event. PLUS on Sunday there is the vintage fair at the Diary House.... What another wonderful weekend.  Look back on here for all the dates and times of these fairs, I posted them all back in a February blog, titled vintage fair dates.....  I will be updating fair dates next week, for more that I now know off....

Have a great weekend yourself and as always Happy Stitching!
