Weddings and Nursery samplers ....

We come to love not by finding a perfect person,
but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.....

Its that time of year for me to design and stitch for Weddings and Nurseries and I do love doing these. Every one slightly different and depending who has actually asked me ( could be the bride herself or the mum to be or indeed a friend or family member as a surprise)  I either get ' just please make it beautiful, you are the artist one, or they have their own idea as to what they think or would like.

So it really does depend.  I am stitching a Wedding and a Nursery one at the moment and loving it.  I have got used to just sitting and stitching most of the day with out trying to wear myself thinly.  I am normally rush rush rush and now I stick to a schedule because I really do not need to be ill again.

In this cold weather I am having my food shop delivered as I do it on line and I do a couple of hours a day house work so I have a routine that is enabling me to work but in a calmer way than before.

I have been stitching away at the Wedding sampler and I love the  words that I have stitched on there, now I can not show you it all but here is a little peek...

I am very pleased with it and it is off to the framer and I have just started the nursery sampler and have stitched three words !

I have pages of designs in my design journal and I have lots to stitch but I still love my design day on a Wednesday.  I just think and sketch and sort of decide on colours of fabrics, threads and buttons.  I love writing sayings or borrowing from a poem or an old saying or quote ....

Parts of prayers or hymns or a song can say it all sometimes and indeed I love to write my own too.

Byron and Shelley are among my favourites and I love to read their poetry as well and have several very old poetry books with some of their works in .. along with William Shakespeare .. yes you guessed it I am a romantic at heart !

Well I am off to sit and stitch and continue on with my day.  I hope you have a great weekend and do not forget to come back tomorrow for your Saturday blog.  All being equal I am off to another vintage fair which is a Love Lane one in Sussex so I will let you know all about it next week.

Have a great day and as always Happy Stitching!
