Turn of the Century silver brooch find!

Big girls need big diamonds!
Elizabeth Taylor

Whilst I think diamonds are the most beautiful rocks in the world, I have found the most stunning piece of jewellery.  It is around 1898/1900 brooch.

I bought this piece from a lovely lady called Sue from Vintage to Victorian at a antiques and vintage fair last Sunday.....

There was lots about it I adored.  As a child I was fascinated by the moon and the stars and often when I should have been asleep I would creep to my window and climb on the windowsill and sit and gaze at the moon......

With the additional love of flowers and birds, how could I allow this stunning piece of antique jewellery to not come home with me.  I do not have lots of jewellery but what I have I simply adore. In the winter I wear a lot of wraps and this stunner will most definitely be adorning those this winter.

It is silver and has two branch/twigs with the half moon in the middle and a flower one side and a bird the other.....

Take a look, what do you think?

I placed it on the quilt I made on a plainer part so that it would stand out in it's own right!  I am indeed happy with this find....

Have a wonderful day and Happy Stitching!
