New Project .. With some amazing fabrics!

Choose a job you love, and you will
never have to work a day in your life.

 Confucius

I am not sure that the above quote is exactly true but it does make sense.  I feel sometimes that I am not working when I am sat creating, stitching and designing but I do know I work every day. Sometimes I am so very very busy and under some pressure for dead lines ... that said I love what I do and am so grateful that I able to be creative for a job.

So yesterday after I had sorted my threads I got out one of my baskets ready to create today.  I am really pleased because the weather over the next few days is not very nice in our local weather forecast and sitting stitching away with rain is one of my favourite things, I have all that I need for this project (I think) so I am going to get started.

I have chosen some really stunning vintage linen and then got some ribbon rags made from pieces of vintage fabric.  Gathering some 1930's suffolk puffs/yo yo's and some beautiful vintage laces I am exciting about starting this one.  I had decided on which antique quilt pieces that I wish to incorporate into this design and chosen subtle colour threads ....

My personal favourites for quilt pieces are the two which are duck egg colour and one has a beige and cream strip to it.  (pictured on the bottom of the photo on the right)

The beautiful lace and lace bits were so hard to choose at one point because there were so many to choose from but I kept putting it all together and looking at it and going away and back and adding and taking away, until it looked just right, that is in my opinion at least.

The linen has a gathered white work strip across it that will incorporate into this sampler beautifully and so I have all my needles and pins, scissors and fabrics ready for the off !!

The only thing which is not decided fully is which buttons and beads to use but they are details for another day, today I am cutting out and assembling ready to stitch and I will be able to get hand embroidery later.

I may well continue with it tomorrow morning and then design in the afternoon only.

Just a reminder to you all that it is the Vintage Bazaar on Saturday just in case you have forgotten, I will be going for sure so I hope I may see some of you there.  My list is growing and I am looking forward to going.

Anyway have a really lovely day and I will see you all back here on Thursday so keep dry with all the rain that they say we are going to have and of course as always Happy Stitching!
