Welcome to a slow stitcher and vintage lovers blog where all things are possible and whimsical. Creating is in my soul and so is treasure hunting for gorgeous old fabrics, buttons, linens & threads. There is something about truffling at vintage fairs for beautiful haberdashery and fabric. I adore the seasons, the hygge & cosy of Winter, the awakening of Spring, the changes of colours and crunching of leaves in Autumn and the bees, butterflies and ocean sounds of Summer. Enjoy XX

How to Separate Strands of Embroidery Floss .....
I have found this tutorial as it is easier to watch this than explain in words how to do this. There are lots of you who will know how to do this but there are lots of people just starting out on embroidery and have been watching the stitches tutorials but have got very tangled with trying to separate strands from a skein.
I have forgotten to show this and it really should have been the first one so I am sorry to those of you who have messaged me with this. Embroidery thread is fairly expensive so it it a must to do this properly and not create a tangle that really has to be thrown away because it is a birds nest! Mary Corbet talks you through it on her web page but I have found a little tutorial for you to see for yourself. I have used a photo from needle and thread to show you. As well as this tutorial why not visit needlenthread web page and read Mary Corbet's instructions too.
Have a great weekend all and as always Happy Stitching!
