Some may wonder if hand stitching and seemingly endless
stitches have a place in today's busy home - just a
comfortable place, is the reply, like a rocking chair in a nursery!
I am going great guns in making beautiful inspiration packs for my stall in October. It is also giving me the chance to sort through my drawers of beautiful vintage fabrics and stroke them all, along with making room for some more new but old ones for my new designs for next year!
In each pack there are always a button or six and of course some ribbon or lace as well as some stunning fabrics (included is some are some good size pieces of paisley!) and other beautiful pieces of vintage fabrics and pieces of antique quilts too.
They are all colour co - ordinated and some do have vintage iron on transfers as well.
The packs will all be on my stall and I am sure there is something for everyone tastes. The picture above show back and front of one such pack and as you can see they are good size packs with some great bit in them. Included in the pack above is a vintage embroidered table mat to keep or to cut up and make into something ... even could be used as a cushion cover front! There is a meter and a half of ribbon in this one as well.....
I will leave you with another picture of back and front of another pack just to wet your appetites. These packs are great for patchwork, cushion making or indeed applique picture making .... the inspiration is there for your imagination!
Have a wonderful day and a great weekend. Do not forget to come back tomorrow as there is a great piece of film for you all to look at. It is about Hampton Courts Royal School of Needlework... not to be missed!
Happy Stitching!
