A designer knows they have achieved perfection not when there is nothing
left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away!
Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
As you all know by yesterdays blog, I am taking time out to have a few designing days. I have a design that is basically finished. I say basically because it is the fabric dilemma that is getting to me.

The two pictures above are starting to become great contenders in this battle. These would have to be both used as if you cut something too small from the fabric on the left then you would loose the pattern... So both to blend.
I have some really beautiful fabrics and lately I have added quite a few to this collection and this actually makes it so hard for me to decide. I have the button for this picture and that took some finding as I told you ( it is the vintage mother of pearl half moon button in the picture on the page of this blog) so that is now the easy part.
I am going to have a little play with colour co ordination today and blending two together and then seeing what it might look like in just one fabric. I need to be at the cutting out stage by Monday so I have to make a decision. It sounds silly really but I have too many choices!!... never thought I would say that.
So the fabric in the left hand picture on the right hand side is beautiful with it blue, pink and beige for the larger object and the fabric in the right hand picture on the right hand side with mostly white and tiny detail is so beautiful.... can you see what I am up against. The only thing for sure right now is that I have to choose carefully so not to take away any of the beautiful pattern in either applique piece that needs to be cut.
Looking at them on this screen in the photos I have to say that the top two pictures are in the lead right now!
So I am away to make my choices and I will let you know Monday what I decided. Have a wonderful day and do not forget it is the stitch of the week tomorrow as it is Saturday. Have a great weekend and Happy Stitching!
OR!!!...... bottom left with top left .. Oh dear!
