Wanted: a needle swift enough to sew this poem into a blanket. ~Charles Simic
Today I am going on my first trip around the charity shops to see if there is some wonderful old wool jumpers or blankets.
I am hoping for some reds and blues..... But I will see what I see, that is the great thing about charity shops and jumble sales.. you never know what you may find.
I am going to brave the weather and go out for a while and then get home and wash it all in the machine on HOT and watch it all shrink and felt. Then I do some felting by hand which I will show you later in the week if I have been lucky enough to find anything1
I have some cutting out to do so if I am unlucky today I have plenty to do. Also as I was so busy with Christmas I did not get to wash and dry my new (but extremely old) mother of pearl buttons I purchased at the Christmas vintage bazaar so that is another job for today. If you wash them in warm water with a very mild washing liquid ( the washing machine type - not washing up liquid) and then rinse and thoroughly dry them, they come up beautifully and then look fabulous when you stitch them on to things and pictures...
I found a picture of a wool bundle and am dreaming of some wool blankets or jumpers in these colours....
Have a great day and Happy Stitching!
