Monday morning and decision made!

There is something real in a women's intuition,
it is an accurate signpost for decision making!

The above is so true and Jon Voight said something similar.  Well after too much thought into this matter I made the decision.  I have chosen two fabrics and they were the ones that were probably favourite all along...

My intuition was to go with these two fabrics as they blend beautifully, yet stand out on their own in their own beauty.  Decision made.

I have to say it wasn't until Saturday with the last look that I decided just to put the others away and get on with the job in hand.  I decided it is a luxury to be able to choose what I would like to use and stitch, I love working for myself and being able to create beautiful things for people to buy and to make themselves so in the end I picked what I loved the most and thought that others might do the same. I have though added a piece of fabric to the picture as I have an idea.  I will see if it will look good or out of place.... That is the piece of fabric that is photographed behind the antique mother of pearl moon button.

So I have gathered my basket full of what I think is needed, and I am going to set to and work on my design this week.  I am hoping that the weathers improvement may stay and increase and then I will be able to get out the furniture for outside and do some hand stitching in the garden, another luxury of working for yourself and I know how lucky I am.
I adore the moon button and I have gathered some teeny tiny mother of pearl buttons as well.  The embroidery thread is all vintage 1960 thread and I will be adding a hand dyed shaker thread or two.

A friend described the symptoms I was feeling so well and the fright of cutting a piece of fabric and having a pattern wastage! It was so good to be diagnosed by a fellow fabric junky!  But decision has been made and I am now sticking with it.  Today I cut!

I hope you all approve of my two choices and I will let you know how it all goes.

Have a great day and Happy Stitching!

  1. I am so proud of you Sarah. Having read the title of this blog I was half expecting the first words to be " I think". My great respect, having made a sane and true artists decision..... to go with your gut and be extravagant as your own eye and hand demands!

  2. Thank you so much. I have to confess that it was all a bit nerve racking but well it is on its way now to being created. It is a delicate piece in the fact that I am trying something new for this sampler....
